Betty Charlier always wanted to start her own business, and, in 1995, she made her dream a reality. Small Business Services, LLC was started by Betty as a small business bookkeeping service. Betty added Income Tax preparation to her services and started doing business as Betty’s Income Tax Services otherwise known as Betty's Tax.
Betty Charlier grew up in LaGrange, IL, and graduated from Northern Illinois University with her Bachelors Degree in Business Management. She moved to Phoenix, AZ, in May of 1987, where she worked at Holsum Bakery as both an Accountant and Purchasing Agent for five years. During that time she graduated from Keller Graduate School with her Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
Since then, her business has grown by leaps and bounds. She now has a successful small business accounting and income tax practice. Betty rarely advertises her business because her clients do it for her - almost all new clients are referred by satisfied current clients.
Betty is also an Enrolled Agent (EA) for the Internal Revenue Service. This is a designation given for passing a comprehensive income tax exam lasting two days. Betty can represent you in tax court at the same level as a CPA or a lawyer.
Betty also started a dog and cat rescue in August of 2005 called Paws & Claws Pet Fostering, Inc. Betty processed and managed the adoptions of hundreds of dogs and cats. Betty ran the rescue until February 2009 when she turned it over to several ambitious women to take it to great new heights.
